Position: Adjunct Instructor— Design History
Salary Range: $2100 per semester, paid in monthly installments
Position Summary:
Teach Design History; focus on design from the Industrial Revolution
to the present; with emphasis on graphic design and typography developments, with connections to photography, architecture, and the fine arts. In-person, 3-hour lecture and discussion course once per week during the day.
The Design History instructor is needed for the Spring 2025 term. Traditional survey art history instructors will be needed in the following academic year (2025-26).
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and deliver lectures, designed to invite discussion from students; prepare tests and/or projects for students; report attendance; grade projects and report grading to the College periodically.
Experience:
Master’s or Ph.D in Art History; teaching experience preferred. MFAs or MAs will be considered with commensurate experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of design and art history as described above; classroom management; teaching.
